August 5, 2026 — Hampton County School District Board of Trustees Approved to Place Bond Referendum on November 3, 2026 General Election Ballot

The Hampton County School District (HCSD) Board of Trustees approved a resolution at its regular meeting Tuesday to place a $29 million bond referendum on the Nov. 3, 2026, general election ballot.

If approved by voters, the referendum will fund three major capital improvement projects at Hampton County High School. These projects include:

• Completing the construction and equipping the athletic complex at the Hampton County High School;
• Constructing and equipping a greenhouse for the Career and Technical Education Agriculture program at the Hampton County High School; and
• Constructing and equipping a dedicated alternative educational placement learning center at the Hampton County High School.

Voters within Hampton County will determine the future of those projects by casting “yes" or "no" votes on the Nov. 3 referendum.

From now through Election Day, the Hampton County School District will lead a robust education campaign to inform the public about the capital improvement projects and the referendum. The campaign will use existing communication platforms, including social media, as well as door-to-door canvassing, community meetings, and other events.
