Student Services

Student Services is committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment by ensuring that drills and training for students and staff are conducted as outline in the districts policies and procedures. This process includes providing behavior and mental health support, bullying prevention and practices that promote conflict resolution.

The Office of Student Services works closely with child welfare to assist with best interest placement of student who identify as Foster Care eligible and support practices that promote inclusion of these students.

The McKinney-Vento Program is designed to address the problems that homeless children and youth face in enrolling, attending, and succeeding in school. Under this program, our district will take actions as outlined by the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) to ensure that each homeless child and youth has equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including a public preschool education, as other children and youth.

Student Services conducts district level hearings to ensure fair and consistent implementation of disciplinary actions that will support student success. This support includes but is not limited to making referrals to local drug and alcohol prevention centers, and licensed mental health counselors/agencies.

The Department of Student Services works collaboratively with educators, families, and external agencies to create a holistic and inclusive educational experience that addresses the diverse needs of all students.
