Dr. Glenda Sheffield

On November 19, 2024, the Hampton County School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Glenda Sheffield as the District’s next Superintendent.

Dr. Sheffield brings with her a wealth of experience and a strong track record of leadership in public education. During her tenure with the School District of Palm Beach County, she held numerous key roles, including Chief Academic Officer, Instructional Superintendent, Principal at all school levels (elementary, middle, and high), and Assistant Principal.

Renowned for her ability to lead transformative change, Dr. Sheffield has been instrumental in elevating academic performance, overseeing curriculum development, expanding magnet and career-themed programs, launching innovative professional development for educators, and managing operational budgets and grants. Her data-driven leadership style has consistently delivered improved outcomes for both students and staff. She is also frequently invited to contribute to national educational panels in recognition of her accomplishments.

Dr. Sheffield shared her enthusiasm for joining the Hampton County School District, expressing a strong commitment to advancing the District’s mission. She looks forward to championing the "Gears to Success" initiative—an effort focused on cultivating a dynamic learning culture, building systems that support continuous growth, and maximizing instructional opportunities for both students and adult learners.
